FOUNDER STORY

Abeera Haus begins with Ruchika, a woman who found her way back to herself through clothing.

Like many women of her generation, Ruchika moved to a new country because life asked her to. She did not speak the language yet, but she had children to raise, a home to build, and a life to figure out in a place that did not feel like hers, yet.

She wanted to teach. She wanted to work in fashion. However, in an unfamiliar society, certain doors close before you even reach them. She tried to fit quietly into the world around her. Her cultural clothing made her stand out in ways that sometimes made her feel out of place. But slowly, that changed.

When she decided she was ready, she began curating collections of sarees, suits, dupattas she had loved her whole life. Clothing she understood instinctively.

It did not take off immediately as technology was also new, but she kept going, and slowly, people began finding their way to her. They waited for new collections because they trusted her eye.

Somewhere along the way, Ruchika found something too.

After years of putting herself aside, she found confidence in her own choices again. She became part of a community of women who understood the feeling behind the clothes because she did too.

She stopped feeling like she had to leave parts of herself behind to belong. She wore her clothes proudly.

Without a website, without a strategy, and without a team, Ruchika built a community through taste, genuine care, and a lifetime of understanding what these clothes mean to the women who wear them.

The community already existed. What was missing was a home for it to grow.

Abeera Haus is that home.

A place for women who grew between worlds.

The stories & memories of that world matter.
A place where the name matters & where it comes from matters.
And where getting dressed can feel like recognising yourself again.
